Literacy Facilitator, Literacy Field
Position Overview:
The Literacy Facilitator is responsible for supporting and coaching teachers, librarians, and principals to adopt new ways of working with children to increase their literacy skills and habit of reading.  This position will report to the Senior Literacy Program Associate.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Implementation, Training and Monitoring.
Serves as the technical resource in the schools on applying literacy skills and the habit of reading techniques in the classroom or library.
Through the Senior Literacy Program Associate, coordinates closely with the Instructional Design and Teacher Support Unit to ensure they are successfully implementing the program design and able to provide feedback on how well it is working.
Regularly observes, demonstrates and coaches Grade 1 and 2 teachers in delivering the instructional component of the Literacy Program.
Regularly observes, demonstrates and coaches all primary grade teachers and librarians in the implementation of the library period and reading activities.
Supports Grade 1 and 2 teachers in effective use of ongoing student tracking assessments to inform instruction.
Conducts and analyzes data related to formative student assessments to inform support for Grade 1 and 2 teachers.
Regularly provides an update to the principal on progress and coaches him/her on ways to support teachers and ensure longer term sustainability of literacy outcomes within the school.
Attends and participates in teacher and librarian trainings related to the Literacy program.
Participates in literacy events, parent meeting and other community activities.
Participates in regular review meetings and any other activities which may be required to be undertaken to fulfill the objectives of the organization.
Supports donor visits through demonstration projects and presentation, as needed.

Planning, Reporting and Documentation.
Conducts ongoing planning, documentation, and reporting of school visits.
Documents best practices and lessons learned and shares with the Senior Literacy Program Associate. 

Qualifications and Experience:
University degree in Education, preferably with a major in Language/Linguistics
1-2 years of related work experience
Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), internet and related applications
Good command of English (both written and oral)
Good interpersonal skills and a team player
Ability to monitor progress of program implementation
Prior success working closely and building relationships with diverse groups of people
Ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously and take initiative
Desire and ability to spend 90% of time traveling and visiting school sites to provide coaching and monitor progress of program implementation
Experience working with young children
Experience working with schools and teachers
Experience with reading, literacy or learning improvement programs

Officer, Accounting and Finance
Tanzania - Main - Dar Es Salaam

Position Overview:
The Officer Accounting and Finance will be responsible for ensuring smooth operation of all aspects of the finance and accounting procedures, systems and processes.  The position will report directly to the Accounting and Finance Manager and will have regular interactions with all staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with the Accounting and Finance Manager to create, implement and analyze financial budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with programmatic strategies and Global Office requirements.
Set up and maintain adequate in-country financial reporting in accordance with government regulations.
Ensuring financial compliance in all governmental standards, requirements, and regulations.
Prepare of monthly and quarterly financial reports.
Track staff advances.
Maintain excellent records related to bookkeeping, expenses, funds, accelerator project, that are at all times accurate, substantiated, up to date, sufficiently detailed and prepared for random spot checks by internal audit functions.
Prepare and submit all financial reporting documents required by Global and Regional Offices in a precise and timely manner.  This includes: submitting cash needs on a monthly basis, maintaining required bank balances, processing wire transfers, completing detailed expense reports, etc.
Maintain billing processes (accounts payable/receivable), and develop other administrative policies and procedures as needed.
Quality assurance of all pending invoices prior to funds disbursement.
Implement accounting guidelines and random field audits Issue staff and program related reimbursements in a timely manner and in accordance with guidelines set by headquarters and Country Director
Conduct OFAC compliance check
Monitor field Office accounts.
Support Accounting and Finance Manager in capacity building activities in relation to financial management.
Carry out banking transactions.

Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or finance or related field (accounting, management, etc.)
Preferred Certified Public Accountant qualification or advanced degree in Accounting and Finance.
Preferred 3-5 years related accounting experience in Officer Position, preferably in an International Non-Governmental Organization.
Cognizant of general financial regulations.
Knowledgeable about the tax law.
Strong planning, supervising, and program development skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Proven track record of achieving results
High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities,
Superior interpersonal abilities. Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature, flexible
Good reasoning abilities, Sound judgment
Good communication skills,
Resourceful and well organized
Participative management style-advocate of team concept
Ability to establish credibility and be decisive – but be able to recognize and support the organization's preference and priorities
Results and people oriented, but have sound judgment ability to balance other business considerations. Service oriented but assertive/persuasive.
