Description
The German Leprosy and TB Relief Association (GLRA) is a relief association which has been working in the field of leprosy for more than 50 years in Tanzania. Our major targets are the fight against leprosy, tuberculosis and neglected diseases (NTDs) in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children. GLRA is also involved in the rehabilitation of people with disabilities.
Work Position: Community Health Coordinator
Job Description.
• Responsible for definition, development and implementation of GLRA Medical-
Social policy at Country/ Project level.
• Responsible for developing plans for community based health programs aimed at the prevention of diseases (in particular leprosy, tuberculosis and NTDs) and promotion of health
• Supervise (through direct contact and regular report analysis) all Programme activities supported by GLRA.
• Responsible for identifying community health program related grant funding and develops grant proposals
• Manages specific health programs from planning, design and through implementation and evaluation
• To work in collaboration with both the National Programs of Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar and the private stake holders.
• To guarantee the necessary quality of the capture and processing of relevant data quantities for analysis (both in the headquarters and in the field)
Required Qualifications.
• Medical and or Health Education background
• Masters degree in Public Health or Masters in M&E of Health projects
• Work experience of minimum of 5 years
• Work experience with the Tanzanian health system.
• Experience in the field of Leprosy, Tuberculosis and TB/HIV are advantageous
• Experience with writing funding proposal.
Remuneration
The above position carries attractive remuneration as per GLRA Tanzania salary structure and incentive package.
Contract Period.
• One year renewable
• Starting date: 1st October, 2017
