JOB ANNOUNCEMENT        30/08/2017

1.0 BACKGROUND
The City Collage of Health and Allied Sciences (CCoHAS) is a registered private College with registration number REG/HAS̸139 to offer pharmaceutical and clinical courses to the level of diploma.
CCoHAS has been established by its own Charter (City College of Health and Allied Sciences Memorandum of understanding and Articles of Association, 2012), Registered under National Council for Technical Award of the United Republic of Tanzania on the 30th June, 2013.
Over the years CCoHAS made significant achievements in terms of increased students enrolment and development of several new academic programmes. CCoHAS has two Campuses, Kigamboni Mikwambe and Kigamboni Mwembe Mdogo.

2.0 TUTOR II (CLINICAL MEDICINE) - 5 POSTS
Duties and Responsibilities.
Reporting to the Head of department, the following are the major responsibilities and duties of the Tutor:

A.    FACILITATE IN TEACHING PROCESS IN A CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT BY DOING SUCH TASKS AS;;
•    Explaining concepts or ideas to students
•    Answering queries from students
•    Preparing handouts or other written materials, as instructed in the curriculum
•    Assisting students in preparing for examinations
•    Clarifying problematic or difficult  areas in specific modules
•    Explaining concepts or ideas to small groups of students
•    Setting Tutorial assignments, such as essays, analysis of papers, statistical problems, etc

B.    FACILITATE TEACHING PROCESS IN OFF CAMPUS i.e. ON FIELD/CLINICAL ROTATION SITES  IF REQUIED,THAT CAN BE DONE BY DOING THE FOLLOWING;
•    Explaining techniques of skilled interview during history taking
•    Supervision of students in clerkship of patients
•    Demonstration of skills of physical examination
•    Explaining relevant concepts and their application in the field

C.    ASSIST WITH THE ASSESSMENT AND EXAMINATION PROCESS BY DOING THE FOLLOWING;
•    To assist in the setting, invigilation and marking of examinations
•    To provide feedback to student following examinations

D.GENERAL ROLES
•    Ensure that all relevant Health  & Safety protocols are followed
•    Undertake any administration required, such as maintaining attendance records on each student
•    Assist in research and consultancy projects.
•    Participate in curriculum development.
•    Assist in other service programmes of the department.
•    Perform any other duties that may be assigned by a competent authority
•    Any other reasonable duties as directed by the Head of College, department or their nominated representative subject.

2.1 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
•    Holder of bachelor degree in Doctor of Medicine (M.D) from recognized Institution with three years experience of teaching in college of health and allied sciences or holder of advanced diploma in clinical medicine (A.M.O). GPA of 4.0 or above will be added value.

3.0 TUTOR II (PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES) - 5 POST
 Duties and responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of department, the following are the major responsibilities and duties of the Tutor:

A .FACILITATE IN TEACHING PROCESS IN THE CLASSROOMS BY DOING THE FOLLOWING TASKS
•    Explaining concepts or ideas to students
•    Answering queries from students
•    Preparing handouts or other written materials, as instructed in the specified curriculum

B, ASSIST WITH DELIVERY OF TEACHING IN OFF CAMPUS i.e. ON FIELD SITE IF REQUIED, FOR EXAMPLEA CLASSROM ENVIRNMENT FOR EXAMPLE;
•    Explaining techniques related to field practices
•    Explaining relevant concepts and their application in the field

C, FACILITATE IN ASSESSMENT AND EXAMINATION CONDUCTION PROCESS BY DOING SUCH TASKS AS;
•    To assist in the setting, invigilation and marking of examinations
•    To provide feedback to student following examinations

D.OTHER ROLES
•    Ensure that all relevant Health  & Safety protocols are followed
•    Undertake any administration tasks as required, such as maintaining attendance records on each student
•    Assist in research and consultancy projects.
•    Participate in curriculum development.
•    Assist in other service programmes of the department.
•    Perform any other duties that may be assigned by a competent authority

3.1 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
•    Holder of Bachelor of Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Technician with teaching methodology from recognized institution with three years experience. GPA of 4.0 or above will be added value.

3.2.1 REMUNERATION

4.0 TUTOR – (LABORATORY TECHNICIAN) 5 POSTS
Duties and Responsibilities.
Taking care in laboratory equipments and apparatus
•    Carrying out and arranging for maintenance and repair resources
•    Stock taking and organizing the storing of chemicals and equipments
•    Obtaining materials by local purchase
•    Trialing practical activities
•    Making up solutions, assembling apparatus, delivering equipments to the laboratory rooms.
•    Occasionally assisting in  practical sessions including carrying out demonstrations
•    Collecting, checking and returning equipments to stores
•    Foreseeing general laboratory rules and safety including cleaning bench surfaces and fixing  laboratory equipments
•    Foreseeing disposing of waste materials
•    Providing technical support to unexperienced teachers including health and safety guidance
•    Keeping up to date with development in practical sciences and health and safety requirements
•    Carrying out health and safety checks on laboratories, preparation rooms and stores
•    Clarifying problematic or difficult subject area
•    Attend and participate in staff and working group meetings and trainings as appropriate.

4.1 ABILITIES
•    Good communicator
•    Organized, practical and clear understanding of laboratory safety
•    Ability to create new experiments, construct appropriate equipment and keep up to date.

4.1.1 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
•    Bachelor degree or Ordinary Diploma/Advance Diploma in Medical laboratory Sciences  with working experience in the relevant field of not less than three years

5.0 PROCUMENT & SUPPLY OFFICER II – 1 POST
      DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Authorizing the receipts of goods and confirming its quantity and quality
•    Carrying out reconciliation of physical storks against records.
•    Ensuring maintenance and amendment of stock level figures
•    Ensures efficient stock control levels are maintained (Inventory Analysis and Control)
•    Responsible for clearing and forwarding activities
•    Evaluating vendor performing and advice accordingly
•    Maintaining an up to date filing system on pricing and vendors to ensure immediate and accurate access to information
•    Takes responsibilities of physical stocks.
•    Conducts physical checks and accounts of received goods.
•    Arrange for physical placement i.e. location and banning.
•    Arrange packing and deliveries.
•    Negotiate the best deal for pricing and supply contracts.
•    Create and maintain inventory of all incoming and current supplies
•    Perform any other related  duties as may be assigned by one's reporting officer
5.1 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
•    First degree/Advanced Diploma/Professional level III in Materials Management or Procurement and Logistics Management from recognized Institution with three years experience.

5.2.1 REMUNERATION

6.0 ACCOUNTANT II – 1 POST
Duties and Responsibilities
•    Perform a variety of accounting tasks which includes receiving and paying out cash and cheques
•    Maintains accurate accounts records.
•    Prepare trial balance.
•    Checks the correctness of claims ensuring that they are supported by appropriate documents.
•    Act as custodian of accountable documents, and
•    Perform any other related  duties as may be assigned by one's reporting officer
6.1 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
•    Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in Accountancy or Accounting and Finance or Professional Module C and D of NBAA plus ICT skills.

6.2.1 REMUNERATION
